Oklahoma City, OK — The International UFO Bureau has announced the formation of its new Advisory Board and the appointment of its inaugural members, veteran Hollywood publicist and UFO author Dan Harary and legendary Oklahoma quarterback Jamelle Holieway.
The Advisory Board will help guide the Bureau’s expanding efforts in public education, media engagement, and responsible communication surrounding UFO and UAP research.
The board brings together respected voices from different fields who can help bridge serious research with public understanding. As the International UFO Bureau continues to grow as a national nonprofit research organization, its advisors will provide strategic insight into outreach, partnerships, and the responsible presentation of complex information about the UFO phenomenon.
Dan Harary brings more than four decades of experience in the entertainment and media industries. A longtime Hollywood publicist and founder of the Asbury PR Agency in Beverly Hills, Harary has represented numerous film, television, and live-event projects throughout his career.
In addition to his work in entertainment publicity, he is widely known in the UFO and paranormal communities as the author of several books, including Flirting with Fame, After They Came, My Paranormal Life, and FIVE.
Harary is also the founder of Wow! Signal News, a publication dedicated to thoughtful coverage of UFO developments, and serves as chair and cofounder of the Hollywood Disclosure Alliance, an organization that encourages responsible storytelling about the UFO phenomenon within the entertainment industry.
His extensive experience in media strategy and public communication will help the Bureau expand its ability to share credible research with wider audiences.
Jamelle Holieway is one of the most celebrated quarterbacks in Oklahoma football history. As a true freshman at the University of Oklahoma, Holieway led the Sooners to the 1985 national championship, becoming the first true freshman quarterback to guide his team to a national title.
Known for his leadership, resilience, and dynamic play in the wishbone offense under legendary coach Barry Switzer, Holieway remains an iconic figure in Oklahoma athletics.
In recent years, he has also developed a strong personal interest in the UFO phenomenon and the broader questions it raises about our understanding of the world around us. Today, he continues to mentor young athletes and contribute to community initiatives throughout the region.
His presence on the Advisory Board reflects both his personal curiosity about the subject and the Bureau’s commitment to building trusted relationships with the communities it serves.
“We are honored to welcome Dan Harary and Jamelle Holieway as the inaugural members of our Advisory Board,” said Founder and CEO Mindy Tautfest.
“For decades, the UFO topic has been dismissed and ridiculed, yet the evidence has continued to grow. If we want this subject to be taken seriously across the nation, we must build an institution that the public can rely on. Advisors like Dan and Jamelle help strengthen that foundation by bringing leadership, communication expertise, and community trust to our mission.”
As the Advisory Board expands, its members will support the International UFO Bureau in shaping public-facing initiatives, strengthening media partnerships, and helping ensure that research and historical documentation are communicated with clarity and responsibility.
Their perspectives will complement the Bureau’s investigative and archival work while helping connect its mission with broader audiences.

IUFOB Founded in 1957 and Home to President Jimmy Carter’s Original UFO ReportOklahoma City, OK — Founded in 1957, the International UFO Bureau (IUFOB) is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to documenting, analyzing, and preserving records related to Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
Among the most historically significant records preserved by the Bureau is the handwritten UFO sighting report submitted by Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter in 1973, several years before he became the 39th President of the United States.
That historical record has gained renewed relevance as former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump have brought new public attention to questions surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena and extraterrestrial life.
In February 2026, Obama drew widespread attention after being asked during a podcast speed round whether aliens are real. He answered that they were, while also stating that he had not seen them and was unaware of any hidden extraterrestrial facility at Area 51.
Obama later clarified his remarks, explaining that the size of the universe makes extraterrestrial life statistically plausible while emphasizing that he had seen no evidence during his presidency that extraterrestrials had made contact with Earth.
The comments followed remarks Obama made publicly in 2021 acknowledging that government footage and records exist showing objects in the sky whose movements and trajectories could not readily be explained.
On February 19, 2026, President Trump announced that he would direct the Secretary of War and other federal departments and agencies to begin identifying and releasing government records related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified anomalous phenomena, unidentified flying objects, and related information.
The announcement placed renewed federal attention on historical UFO and UAP records and reflected the continuing public interest surrounding government transparency on the subject.
The renewed discussion provides an interesting historical comparison with Carter’s experience more than five decades earlier.
In September 1973, IUFOB Director Hayden C. Hewes contacted Carter after learning that the Georgia governor had publicly discussed witnessing an unidentified object. Carter completed and returned the Bureau’s sighting form, leaving behind a handwritten record that remains part of the Hayden C. Hewes Archive.
“Carter’s report remains a remarkable piece of presidential history,” said Mindy Tautfest, CEO of IUFOB.
“It represents a moment when a future president documented an anomalous event with sincerity and without political calculation. Today, as national leaders speak more openly about UAP, the historical record gains new relevance and IUFOB’s role in preserving that record becomes even more important.”
As public discussion continues to evolve, the International UFO Bureau remains committed to preserving historical records, providing context for past investigations, and supporting a rigorous, multidisciplinary approach to the study of unidentified aerial phenomena.
